Brenda Stephens, LPCC/LPC/LMHC, is a trauma therapist specializing in narcissistic abuse recovery, relational trauma, coercive control, and complex PTSD (C-PTSD). Based in San Diego County, California, she provides online therapy  for adults throughout California and for clients in the states where she is licensed: Vermont, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Florida, Wyoming, and New York. Through the Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Center, she also offers (acrosss the United States and worldwide) education and support resources for survivors of emotional abuse.

Brenda is the founder of The Trauma Recovery Collaborative (TRC) and the Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Center, helping clients heal from emotional abuse, high-conflict relationships, and chronic stress. Her work focuses on rebuilding self-trust, boundaries, and nervous system regulation using EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, and polyvagal-informed approaches.

She offers individual therapy, trauma intensives, and therapy groups, including the Survivors of Narcissistic Abuse (SoNA) Support Group and the High Conflict Separation/Divorce Support Group. Brenda is also the author of Recovering From Narcissistic Mothers: A Daughter’s Guide and The Narcissism Recovery Workbook: Healing from Emotional Abuse, and she trains other therapists and helping professionals in trauma-informed care for narcissistic abuse and relational trauma.
